COVID-19 Outbreak and Ongoing Tussle between Modern Medicine & Ayurveda
Pharma sector is in an unprecedented phase of transformation
A tug of war between Medical Science & Ayurveda
COVID-19 is still spreading like a wild fire all across the world.
The vaccine still being developed in many countries.
To get COVID-19 antidotes scientist worldwide have been continually indulging in R&D to make vaccine available as soon as possible.
Billions of lives are on high stake. Meanwhile the argument is still going on for supremacy between the Medical Science & Ayurveda through allopathic and Ayurveda medicine which is better to treat & cure COVID-19.
However, it is a very tricky question which one is better as one side Allopathy is just 200 years old while Ayurveda is around 5000 years old.
Importance of Medical Science
The age of human being has been dramatically increased in last 100 years due to a lot of researcher and development executed in medical science. Earlier, there was high death rate due to fatal diseases like plague, influenza, tuberculosis, malnutrition, cholera and malaria.
Thousands of people were died due to these incurable diseases, as that time the life saving drugs were not available for these fatal diseases.
Medical science has developed unprecedentedly post second world war and modern medicines were made and developed to cure fatal diseases.
These allopathic medicines brought a revolution in human being life and the life-expectancy of human being has increased dramatically by 10 years.
Before these allopathic medicines there were no control on epidemic or pandemic and millions of people were killed by these catastrophe.
During emergency treatment, fatal accident, in surgery condition and for quick relief allopathic medicine are considered and experienced better than Ayurveda medicine worldwide.
Side effects of allopathic Medicines
However there is a side effect of allopathic medicine unlike homeopathy and Ayurveda medicine.
To get quick relief or suppress pain for a shorter period allopathic medicines are best and better, however it is perceived that no permanent cure is executed by allopathic medicine.
The disease is temporary treated not permanently cured and due to side effects a new disease outbreak.
Some Ayurveda experts believed that allopathic medicine can suppressed the diseases but unable to permanently cure it.
What is Ayurveda and importance of Ayurveda
Ayurveda is a pseudoscientific system of medicine with historical roots in the Indian subcontinent.
Globalized and modernized practices derived from Ayurveda traditions are a type of alternative medicine.
In countries beyond India, Ayurvedic therapies and practices have been integrated in general wellness applications and in some cases in medical use.
It is also believed that Yoga and Ayurveda was imparted by lord Shiva to sage Patanjali for benefit of human being.
Ayurveda is very popular in India and emphasize on balance of three elements Vata, Pitta & Kapha in human body.
Vatta, Pitta, Kapha and impact of Fast & Processed food
Whenever these three elements are imbalanced disease outbreak and by natural medicine and food habit balance can be crated in human body and disease can be permanently cured.
Ayurveda promote natural and healthy food to live a healthy, longer and disease-free life.
Processed, fast, chemical mixed and artificial foods are strictly prohibited in Ayurveda.
As per Ayurveda these foods increase inflammation in the human body resulting outbreak of disease due to imbalance of three elements.
For instance, sugarcane is natural if it is taken in a natural form it is very healthy and nutritious as it is directly come from farmland.
When the juice of sugarcane is extracted and Jiggery (Gur) is made. Jiggery is a less natural form of sugarcane.
At last by refining and mixing chemical sugar is made which is a processed and refined form of sugarcane and least healthy for human being.
Needless to say that processed, stored, refined and artificial foods are harmful for our health
Over or binge eating
All in all Ayurveda emphasis on healthy life style by taking fresh & organic fruits and vegetables to balance three elements Vata, Pitta & Kapha and also to reduce inflammation which lead to many disease in our body.
It is experienced that natural fruits and vegetable cannot be overeaten so no feasibility of binge-eating.
After a moderate quantity automatically your brain gives signal of fullness and satisfaction.
However, fast, stored, refined and processed food especially artificial drink, pizza, cookies, meat products, alcoholic and smoking which have a lot of additives and ingredients like salt, sugar, artificial color and preservative.
These foods do not provide fullness and satisfaction to brain and force us to binge-eating due their taste, flavor and relish nature and no matter how much quantity is taken we remain insatiable.
China is source of all viruses
Chines love eating meat especially pork. After a rapid industrialization growth half of the chines came out of poverty and start eating more meat products.
However, If we look back most viruses emerged from China Sea food/meat market.
Today’s life is very fast we all running a rat race and many fast food company exploiting this opportunity by prompting their process and refined products as these are cheap, easy available, easy to cook and advertised continually on social media.
Supremacy war between modern medical science and traditional Ayurveda
At present, on social media a lot of argument and discussion in going on COVID-19 how to cure or treat it.
There are a lot of medical science doctors who claim that only medical science can cure the COVID-19 and a lot of Ayurveda doctors are also claiming to cure the COVID-19 by natural medicine, saying there is no deadly virus it is a common cold and flu virus and blaming media, medical science and WHO for misleading people.
All are coming up with a lot of data, documents and research papers and a war of supremacy is still going on social media.
A big and profitable Pharma market worldwide
Needless to say that modern pharma sector is the biggest market in the world unlike Ayurveda and homeopathy.
Top global pharma companies like Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Novartis, Bayer and Glaxosmith Kline earning billion by making life-saving drugs.
COVID-19 is a big opportunity for them by developing an antidote or vaccine the billions of dollars can be earned by capturing and monopolizing market worldwide .
Indian Ayruvedic companies like Patanjali, Dabur and Baidnath, Zandhu and Himalyan are just emerging and far behind from these Pharma giants, may be in international market Indian companies are fighting a losing battle however the real fight is for capturing and expanding their presence in India.
Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury & Dr. Paramjeet Singh Controversy
Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury an Internationally renowned medical nutritionist claiming that governments, medical agencies and WHO worldwide misleading public about COVID-19.
Saying that it is a normal cold and flu virus and can be easily cured by taking fresh fruits, vegetable, fruits juice, water and proper rest.
However, another medical science doctor Dr. Paramjeet Singh blaming and having argument with Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury spreading myths and incorrect information about COVID-19.
A lot of post and videos of Dr.Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury have been removed or deleted on social media.
Therefore, an indirect war is going on between Ayurveda and Medical science.
Baba Ramdev a world yoga and Ayurveda leader also promoting yoga and Ayurveda products through his company Patanjali worldwide.
Within a short span Patanjali has grown very fast in India and became one of the largest Ayruveda product company in India.
Dantkanthi a herbal toothpaste became so popular that Colgate world biggest company also introduced herbal Colgate toothpaste to fulfill its customer demand.
Needless to say that Ayruveda products demand is also increasing worldwide and a real threat for modern pharma companies.
Ultimately Pharma companies are running by capitalist no matter allopathic or Ayurveda so a tug of war bound to be happened to capture or expand market worldwide.
Modern medical science and Ayurveda both are important part of our lives medical science has transformed and saved millions of lives in since last century.
Billions dollars are being spent on research and development of medical science so that the human being can be safeguarded from fatal and deadly viruses.
Ayurveda and yoga is also an important part of our life guiding and pushing us to have a health and natural life style to avoid any risk of diseases and promoting ecological balance on this earth to have a longer disease-free life.
Therefor, it is up to human being how to make a balance between this modern and traditional healing processes for people betterment in a holistic and unbiased method
